Lacquered Flooring Maintenance Guide

To keep your lacquered floors as perfect as possible, regular cleaning and maintenance are imperative. It is crucial that you use the correct products when caring for a floor with a lacquered finish as lacquer has specific care needs when it comes to maintenance. Never use steam cleaners or scrubber dryers on a lacquered floor as this will damage the coating of lacquer. Using cleaning agents with a high pH value will over time damage a lacquered finish. Always use products that are recommended specifically for lacquered floors. A Swep mop is the best mop to use on all timber floors as little to no damage can be caused as a result of use on the timber flooring. Be Floored have a wide range of Lacquer-specific products available for purchase, see our recommendations below, or if you would like more information, feel free to contact us on 03 8640 0200 for more information. Lacquered floors are strong & durable, & the 'lacquer' finish protects the timber beneath from the environment. However, the one downside of a lacquered wood floor is that it has a tendency to show scratches quite easily.
Without appropriate care, the protective 'lacquer' finish can crack, flake, peel & blister, & when the floor finally ends up looking tired and worn, the course of action is normally a total re-sand and re- finish
